Microbiology, Medicine & Meditation!

In celebration of World Antibiotic Awareness Week, we invite you to step into the storyworld of Surgeon X comic book published by Image Comics and set against the backdrop of an antibiotic apocalypse in near future London.

Come and see a lecture straight from the pages of the comic; a panel discussion featuring some amazing women in science, and wind down at the end of the session with some meditation and microbiology (we promise you don’t have to do much, except sit there and chill).

Featuring:

Prof Laura Bowater (Microbiology Education & Engagement, University of East Anglia)

Ms Caroline Moore (Surgeon, UCLH & UCL)

Dr Harriet Palfreyman (Medical Historian, University of Manchester)

Chaired by Sara Kenney (Writer, Surgeon X & Wellcome Trust Engagement Fellow)

Gill Hickman (Meditation Facilitator, Artist)

See the artwork of John Watkiss and pick up a free copy of the Surgeon X special Trial and Error with art by Warren Pleece.
